my grandfather went home with the Lord on july 7th, 1.45am.
he died of lung cancer.

the memories of my ye ye(cantonese for grandfather) is very limited.
he was bed-ridden 14 yrs ago,
when i was arnd 3 yrs old.
he had a stroke and was unable to talk ever since.

i cant really rmb anything at 3yrs old or b4 that,
so i onli rmb him always on the bed and
reading chinese wuxia xiao shuo,
with his oversized thick glasses hanging at the rim of his nose.

whenever i visit him, i'll onli greet him and then run off with the cousins to play.
i probably did not know how much he longed to have a decent conversation with his grandchildren.

my mum told me that ye ye can cook really really well.
thats not very surprising judging from my dad's cooking.:D
he would cook all sorts of delicacies for my family and he loves food alot.
my uncles also recollected that ye ye loves to sing alot:)
his favourite song is the butterfly lovers song,
which my 4th uncle sang beautifully during the funeral:)

evr since he had stroke,
he could onli eat bland dishes w plain porridge.
for 14 yrs.

my cousin said that if he was ye ye,
he would haf given up 10 yrs ago.
if i were him, i would too.

imagine being unable to talk for 14 yrs and unable to eat good food too.
if ur a grandparent, how much you would want to play w ur grandchildren and haf fun with them!
my grandfather was deprived of all that for soooo long.

i can tell that ye ye was a really strong willed person.
anyone can be able to tell that.
the most important lesson that i learnt from him is to persevere on despite the circumstances.

if he can persevere for 14 yrs with his illness,
what little will do i need to be resilient with my trivial problems in life?

God has also taught me to cherish the people in my life

whenever i have the opportunity.

i think i really have to spend more time with my grandma

and talk to her more.

i thank God that he has placed ye ye in my life,
to be an example for his children and grandchildren despite e lack of communication.

im sad that ye ye had passed on, being like a part of my life since i was born.
something seems to be missing since he had gone.'

but im happy that now he has gone heavenward to be with God.
no more painful bed sores and breathing problems from now on!! :D
i noe that ye ye is now walking with God in heaven and singing praises with the heavenly hosts:D
